Charlotte airport checkpoint expanded, reopened

Charlotte Observer

Flying out of Charlotte should be an easier proposition, now that officials at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport have expanded and reopened a security checkpoint.

Checkpoint A was reopened earlier this week, after being closed about a month. Crews installed a second security lane and a full body scanner. The larger checkpoint area meant an addition of 2,000 square feet.

The airport now has four security lines and two full body scanners.

Later this year, airport officials will closed Checkpoint C, for installation of another full body scanner.
